CHIPPED DRIVING LICENCES
February 2012 will see the start of a new type of micro chipped driving licence.
This will apply to anyone who has a French driving permit.
The licences will have to be renewed every 15 years, but no exam needs to be taken. If you apply for a licence here after January 19th 2013, you will be issued with the new chipped version.
Apparently those who already have The current paper licence have up to 20 years (last date 2033) to change over. Should be enough time even for the most laid back amongst us!
